CONFRONTING THE FORMER .....!!

How do you feel when you think of your Ex-boss? Ex-Best Friend? Ex-Enemy? What if you run into an “Ex” on a pleasant day?? What will be your spontaneous reaction?? Well I believe it is another universal feeling like Love and pain??!!
“Damn it, I had to meet this person to ruin the rest of my day!!” is what you would say?

For many, it is an awful feeling to confront the formers. Particularly for no big reason. It can be simply accounted for revisiting the past, which no one wants to do. This “Ex” person will always be involved with an unpleasant incident of our lives, that we don’t want to meet him/her for the rest of our lives. That’s when fate laughs at you.
The moment the person appears before us, a million things run into our minds.
One feels embarrassing, cold, awkward, betrayed, sad, helpless, miserable and what not!!
The intensity varies with the relationship you once shared with the person and after how long this confrontation takes place.
There might be instances when you run into one of your “Ex-friends” who tops the “Hate list” and you had to look terrible THAT day while all you wanted was let the person know their absence in your life is least important!

We dont always “part ways” with our formers. Its always, never turning back attitude. Break ups are never official! Its always changing the mobile numbers, Mail id’s, Bus route, train timings, avoiding common friends and a big list which we are so good at. In most of the cases its not even a good bye. Things are left unspoken only to give room for interpretations that always blame the other person.
How simple will things get if only we chose to talk our mind out? So that we never have to feel bad for what happened? Never having to treat “Ex” persons as a nightmare??

Certain things in life go unanswered many a times. When the time does come for the answers, how good we stand up to the situation and speak out is left to be seen.
“If only I have a chance to get things straight now….How stupid I was then!!!” is all we keep telling.
We might still have our Ex-best friend’s phone number, but refuse to talk to them. “Come on, its never going to be like before” is another convenient excuse.
It hurts at the bottom of the heart when we miss our once best friend. It takes a great deal of courage to speak out and settle things. Courage not to confront the other person, but to confront ourselves, our past, our mistakes. True, it will never be like before, but still. It can make a difference.

While “Ex” so and so always is a headache, make sure you never want to add anymore on the list from now on. Its not going to be easy hiding away from all the people you know!
If you do want to make a difference in life, pick up your mobile and dial the long due call!!

Cheers to Friendship!!!

Aadhavan--Review

This movie from the very beginning failed to create any kind of expectations in me really, though am a great surya fan! All this Surya turning a MASS hero stuff don’t appeal to me personally!
Right, about the movie now!!

The combination did evoke curiosity amongst the public. Ks Ravikumar-Surya-Haris? Wonder why Ksr turns so flexible with the actor he works with. Its obvious that Surya would have wanted Harris to score the music. So the team looks perfect with Udhayanidhi Stalin as the producer after Kuruvi! Vadivelu for the comedy part. Nayanthara plays the lady love of the hero! This combo certainly was much awaited.
Saroja devi and a lot of people form the so called FAMILY that we get to see only in the movies. The director wastes no time explaining the relationship, thank god!

The story starts off like a typical masala entertainment with punch dialogues, intro song, fit hero etc. Right from the start we find the movie shaky. Life of a ruthless killer, expert as he got to be. Aadavan is assigned a job of assassinating a judge by a super cool anonymous person. Our hero fails to execute the same for the first ever time in his life. He wants this man dead and so finds his family, gets into the house with the help of vadivelu and.. does nothing really. Now that will be explained in the Climax. Flashback reveals that hero is the son of the Judge himself and all the while he has been trying to save his father. The Climax involves a very risky fight sequence between the anonymous agent who wants the judge dead. Now this climax is something we jus cant take. If entertainment means illogical action sequences then to hell with it. Surya falls into the petrol pond (sorry I jus don’t understand what that place is supposed to be, with petrol stored in a syntax tank), happy that he saved his father. And the next shot we see surya walking down the steps, and they lived happily ever after!!

One person who scores and emerges as a true winner is Vadivelu. Honestly, after kandsamy people expected his portion to be another crap but man, he proved everybody wrong. What a performance. He has evolved so well as an actor and it shows. Not a single scene was boring when vadivelu was around. The boat sequence just explains his ability to take the movie forward with so much ease. If people still remained in the theatre its not because of surya or nayanthara but Vadivelu the true hero of the movie.

Nayanthara has nothing to do really. Love track was a mere explanation to fit in 3 songs in the second half. Saroja devi madam, kannadathu paingili. Well, no comments really!! This lady deserves an appreciation for letting her mocked about her makeup. Ramesh kanna, its his story and he gotta be there. Surya’s dad, did his part wel. Anand babu’s role was not wel crafted.
Haris jayaraj!!! 2 songs were good. Vaarayo could have been shot outdoor. Hasili Fisili, best of all. Honestly, how long are you going to repeat your tunes sir?? Background music resembles his everyother movie!
Locations of the songs were good.

Surya!! Its difficult to get into the shoes of kamal hasan. But he has definitely taken that path. Kamal also did masala movies, but not as illogical as this one. Its even more distressing because of his next movie. Singam. Stills explain loads already!!
Surya, you are a very good actor. We don’t want you to do craps like these!!

Ksr!! Is this the man who directed dasavatharam, panchathanthram, thenali?? Ohhh!! These were kamal movies. Right!!!
10 yr old surya,a good attempt! Though I don’t see the necessity!!
Last scene is about what to come in the future. Udayanidhi the hero!! Well, lets wait for it!!

Overall!! Average movie!! For surya fans, it’s a let down. You can still watch it for Vadivelu and why not, Surya!! Better luck for the movies that are to come after Singam!!

My Rating: 2/5!
